(please scroll down to read parts 1,2 &3 first)
In less than 12 months after my D&C I was pregnant again and 9 months later gave birth to another baby boy.
Two years later the Lord blessed us with a girl, and then another girl two years after that, for a current total of seven children.
We are abundantly blessed and have never regretted giving control of this area to God. He has provided for us in every way. We have never gone without. We may not have known how He intended to meet our needs ahead of time, but God has never been late.
At each post-partum exam, the doctor routinely asks which birth control we would like to go on. I smile and say, "We've traded in birth-control for God-control." There's no arguing with that.
My husband refers to birth control as "blessing control", because the Bible tells us children are a blessing. We should have our palms open, ready to receive these blessings as much as any other blessing. Why make the Lord force our fingers open, or worse, reject it altogether out of fear of the unknown? Our future may be unknown to us, but it is never unknown to God. And He's not worried.
"Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from Him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in ones youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate." Psalms 127:3-5
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight" Prov. 3:5

Suzanne

"Blessing Control" Wow, I really love that! It is so true. It looks like we agree on the subject completely. I truly enjoyed reading your posts.
I truly believe God has our lives planned before we are ever born, He knows what we can handle, and He will always provide. When I told my mother
(who is a Christian as well) about letting God be in control of my fertility, she looked at me like I was crazy, lol. I know this is what God wants for us, who am I to say no to God's blessings?
Thanks so much for sharing your experiences with me, you are an inspiration to me, you really are :)
Happy love day <3

Oh I hope you don't have "blessing control" copyrighted, because I'm going to be using that one! What an impact that makes. Two little words that really sum up how QF families feel.
